The Company
C-Wave was formed in 2002 by the C-Wave inventor Chris Budd to develop and exploit the C-Wave technology through a Dti SMART award. In 2006 C-Wave was reorganised with an new management team and a funding package in excess of £1million, raised from experienced business angel investors.
C-Wave is an independent company based at the SETsquared business incubator at Southampton University where we benefit from close consultancy links with key University departments and access to test facilities.
Directors
Giles Edward – Chief Executive
Giles has many years of business, commercial and technical management experience in early stage and multi-national energy sector businesses. Giles' last role was at Offshore Hydrocarbon Mapping, which Giles worked to spin out of University of Southampton in 2002, which floated on AIM in 2004.
Prior to setting up OHM Giles had a 13 year career in the International oil industry with Total, managing multi-million pound projects in Europe, the Far East and the Middle East.
Geoff Almeida – Non Executive Chairman
Geoff has a broad business experience at a senior levels having served on the executive board of BT, and as the CEO of BT's UK infrastructure company. He has held finance director roles in a number of companies, including two years at Parkdale as Group FD during which time the market capitalisation of the company increased from £10M to approximately £50M.
Since leaving BT Geoff has been an active investor and director in early-stage companies.
Mike Mason - Non Executive
Mike is the creative and financial mover behind a number of businesses in the low carbon sector including Biojoule, a biofuel technology development company, and Climate Care a company which invests in projects which offset carbon emissions from the use of hydrocabons.
Mike is also a successful entrepreneur in the IT and medical services sectors.
